The child death review process is a statutory function laid out in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 and the supplementary Child Death Review Statutory and Operational Guidance.
Leeds Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) are a panel of local experts from a range of services who come together to review every child death in Leeds. The aim of this panel is to identify learning and make recommendations to try and reduce the number of child deaths in the city.
This years CDOP annual report is the result of reviewing deaths during 2021-22 and lists the recommendations it has made. It is important that all professionals that work with children and young people read the findings of this report and consider how they can contribute to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
