For parents, family and friends, the death of a child or young person is a tragedy of unimaginable proportions requiring understanding and support. Whilst nothing can ease the loss that will be felt, it is important that we learn from each child or young person’s death.
The circumstances of every death is reviewed by the LSCP Child Death Overview Panel to ensure that any lessons that might help to reduce deaths in the future are identified, understood and acted upon. The Child Death Overview Panel produces an Annual Report which summarises key themes and actions taken as a result of what has been learnt.
