Preparing for engaging in child protection conferences

Attending the session will enable you to understand the purpose of an Initial Child Protection Conference (ICPC) and Review Child Protection Conference (RCPC), and your roles and responsibilities when attending. The session will guide you through the use of the Strengthening Families Framework within the CP process. It will provide you with an insight into the potential outcomes of an ICPC and RCPC, including child protection planning, and when plans may be discontinued. You will leave the session with increased knowledge and confidence to support effective participation within an ICPC and RCPC.

This training session is being offered to enable practitioners to meet core safeguarding competencies.

The session is suitable for any practitioner intending or likely to attend a Child Protection Conference, to represent their agency. It is also suitable for students and practitioners new to Leeds.
