Non-Contact Abuse

The session will present the local and national picture of the risks to which children and young people are currently exposed, as a result of ‘non-contact’ abuse, particularly via social media. The aim of this session is to support practitioners, enabling them to develop an increased awareness of the variety of signs, indicators and sources of intelligence which they can employ in their work with children and families. Delegates will have the opportunity to consider how, working alongside police colleagues, they can share concerns and assist in the management of this issue, reducing this risk of harm it presents.

This training session is being offered in response to police intelligence available through LSCP Multi-Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) arrangements

The session is suitable for all practitioners working with children, young people and their families.
