The Leeds Mind Suicide Bereavement Service offers compassionate support for people bereaved or affected by suicide; this training is delivered by practitioners who understand because they’ve been there. Want to know more about suicide bereavement and Leeds Mind Suicide Bereavement Services? Leeds Mind staff will share information on the impact of a suicide bereavement on children and young people and how best to support those affected, while also looking after yourself. Training and provide useful resources to help you in your role.

This training session is being offered in response to recommendations from a Child Safeguarding Practice Review.

Trainer details
Rachel Walmsley - Senior Postvention Practitioner at Leeds Mind Suicide Bereavement Service, lost a loved one to suicide in 2018.
Lisa Bourne - Senior Postvention Practitioner at Leeds Mind Suicide Bereavement Services. Lisa lost her friend to suicide in 2017.
Roz Doherty - Suicide Prevention Service Lead. Roz has worked for Leeds Mind for the last seven years and has been in her current role since November 2022.
Delivery
This session will be delivered live on MS Teams and you will need to attend the full session, in a private space with no distractions
This is an interactive session and in order for participants to fully engage we ask that you access the training using a laptop or PC only (no mobile phones or tablets)
Preparation for the session
Before attending this session, you must have completed the Introduction to Safeguarding Children and Young People either through your own agency or the LSCP. You should have a good understanding of safeguarding and your own organisation's relevant policies and procedures.
Charges
There will be no charge for attending this session, or for non-attendance. You are asked to cancel your booking, if you find that you are going to be unable to attend. This will free up places in the event that the session becomes fully booked.
